I’m staying in a villa in Tres Cales and don’t have a car. Are there local buses running between Tres Cales and L’Ametlla de mar? If so when do they run and how frequently? Any info on local transport would be appreciated greatly. Is there a coastal walk from Tres Cales to L’Ametlla de Mar?

Winter in L'Ametlla de Mar - 1 replies

Tinita Posted by Tinita in General L'Ametlla de Mar discussion on Wed Jan 24, 2024 12:56pm

Hi everyone,

my husband and I are contemplating buying a house close to L'Amettla. It is supposed to be a winter home, while we would rent it out in the summer.

However, we are a little concerned about lack of options for going out and dining, etc in winter. What would you consider the nearest town with decent options? Is there a nice little village with a historic centre where locals go for tapas in winter? Also, where could we find supermarkets that cater also to vegans and vegetarians?

Thanks for your help

Is there anybody out there? - 2 replies

Hi,

I've been looking on this forum for a couple of months now, out of curiosity, as we are seriously considering relocating to L' Ametlla de Mar region.

Can anyone tell me if there are many non-Spanish people in the area?   Is there a British community?   Or a French community?    We were there earlier this year and, although we met a few Spaniards who spoke French, non-Spaniards were almost non-existent.    Which is a good thing, we aren't looking for British or German owned bars and cafes serving all-day fried breakfasts and bratwurst, but I was just wondering.

Also, just how busy does it get during the summer months?   We were there over Easter and were surprised that there were often less than half a dozen people on some of the small beaches, which was a very pleasant surprise.
