Hi could anyone give advice on what happens when a owner passes away do you need to pay inheritance tax before selling property many thanks

I'm assuming the deceased is related to you. I am very sorry for your loss.
Depending on the relationship will depend on the quantity of tax you need to pay.
The property would have to transferred into your name before you can sell it.
Inheritance tax is not cheap nor are the associated legal costs. I would suggest getting a solicitor to deal with it for you. I can recommend a couple in Tarragona if you are interested.
