I plan to complete on a small apartment in Salou (Carre Barcelona) on Friday 28th April. I wonder if there is any way I could have wi-fi internet up and running by Saturday. Any recommendations for a provider? It would be great to visit a shop on Thursday and arrange to have it installed by Saturday. At the moment I don't even have a phone number for the apartment.

TIA

Any luck on this?

Any ideas in the Cap Salou area?

Thanks

Hi Rob,

What I ended up doing was buying a mobile router so that a SIM card from a mobile could connect me to the internet, It was a reasonably cheap workaround, discounting the initial cost of the router, but it only gave me 29GB per month, I found that wasn't sufficient.

In the end I bit the bullet and now pay Movistar for internet through the landline. It's quite expensive, around 50 Euros per month, but that does include internet access through my mobile, when I'm out and about, as well as through the landline.

All of the providers in (Cap) Salou have a catalogue. I tried to go through Orange but somehow Movistar seemed to have a monopoly in my block of flats. I shall find out more about it as my Spanish improvdes!

Thanks Des,

I'm hoping to move over in 2 years and will need good, reliable internet.

Cheers

Oh, btw, next time I'm over (probably next summer), would you like to meet my wife and I for a quick beer?

Sure.

I'm mostly retired but I do a bit of teaching English.
I work a regime of 3 weeks in Spain followed by 1 week in UK.
