I have just been to see the notary in L'Amettla which is not too far away. He speaks good Engish and does Wills. I have just had a power of attorney done by him for 66 euros. I intend to go back for a will.

we have just used Eduard Gilbert based in Tarragona. Excellent guy with fantastic English. WhatsApp him on +34 657 81 63 39 and mention Pete recommended him.

Thanks Pete. Actually, our bank recommended a Notary in Cambrils (Javier Carlos Garcia Bayon - for anyone looking in the future) so we got things sorted with him very quickly last week. But thanks for following up.

There are two types of lawyers in Spain - notaries and abogados. Notaries deal with preparing and certifying wills. Property transfers and powers of attorney and other similar documents. Abogados deal with court appearances and preparing court cases. What they can't do is provide the official certification needed for wills property transfers and the estates of people who have died.
