Betty Lindyhop in L'Ametlla de Mar
Hi everyone!! My name is Bettina Oyhenart, I just arrived and I intend to live most of the year here, in L'Ametlla de Mar. I was wondering if in this beautifull village there would be any interest in beginning a community of Swing dancers. I've been a Swing dance teacher for over 18 years, mainly Lindy hop but also Balboa and Jive.
For those who don't know what swing dance is: it is a social dance that developed with the swing style of jazz music in the 1920s–1940s, many of styles of swing dancing were developed; the best-known of these dances is the Lindy Hop. One can Lindy hop to a very wide range of music, from Big band swing/jazz era music to Classic R&R, R&B, Rockabilly, and some Pop tunes with swing rhythm.
