Hi all

We are a family planning to move to Tarragona in the next couple of months. We're over at the moment trying to get NIE and residency sorted as well as renting a flat and registering a child in primary school.

There are a lot of chicken and egg scenarios as in we need to rent a flat to get the child registered in school, but need the NIE to rent a flat.. but need an address to get a NIE..

We've been backwards and forwards across town to different offices.

Can anyone recommend a gestor in Tarragona who would do some of this for us?

Many thanks in advance.

Richard

HI,

I can recommend a solicitor´s office:

Vahusari

Rbla. Nova, 118-120 - Bajos, Tarragona 43001 · +34 977 217 064

There are a couple of people in the office who speak English if your Spanish/Catalan is not so great.

If I can be of any other assistance, let me know.

I remember the frustrations from many moons ago.

Cesar August is a pretty good state primary school in Tarragona. You can always consider the ¨concertadas" (Half public - half private schools) the costs are not too high.

Good luck.

Thanks again.

I'll give the firm a call tomorrow.

Thanks also for the advice re school. We went to see San Domenecs (a concertada) on Tuesday and they seem really good. We'll try to get them in there. They need an address though to register the girls and we're trying to get an NIE in order for the flat agency to rent us a flat..

So yes, it is a frustrating process.

Hopefully the gestor will be able to help with thingss.

Much appreciated.

Richard

Would anyone know what the average cost might be for use of gestors for things like rental contracts, sorting out NIEs, getting other official documents dealt with etc?

Thanks

Hi

I am looking for or a gestor to arrange all the papers needed to be able to live in Spain permanently.

I have moved to Spain recently from Italy, another EU country, where I resided from 13-05-2011 until 26-04-2022.

With me from Italy I have the following documents:

Certificato di residenza from 09-09-2011 and renewed on 08-04-2022

Certificato di Attribuzione del numero di Codice Fiscale (Tax Identification Number) from 21-03-2011 until date.

Carta di Identita, renewed on 08-04-2022 in a digital formate.

Certificato di residenza and Carta di Identita were issued in a local office of the Comune of the place I have lived from 13-05-2011 until 26-04-2022.

I understood that being an EU resident for the past 11 years the documents like the Residency Certificate, the Identity Card and the Tax Identification Number should be transferred to Spanish automatically.

Any help to arrange the same documents as for EU citizen to be able to live in Spain on a permanent basis will be much appreciated.

I moved to Italy in May 2011 from UK.

I am based in Tarragona region now, do not speak Spanish and not mobile to do it by myself.

With thanks and best wishes
